Taking a Survey
When
you take a survey, you ask different people the same questions or you answer
other people’s questions.
When you are asking the questions in a survey:
- Listen carefully to the answer.·
- Show interst. (Say: “Oh.” “Really?” or “That’s interesting.”)
- Take notes.
- At the end, thank the person. (Say: “Thanks”, “Thank you”, or “Thanks a lot.”)
When you are answering questions in a survey:
- Speak clearly.
- Clarify if the person doesn’t understand you.
Agreeing and Disagreeing
Often
when you speak with people you have to agree or disagree with what they say.
Agreeing means that you think that what the person said is true. Disagreeing
means that you think that what the person said is incorrect.
Agreeing: Disagreeing:
I think that’s right. I think that’s
wrong.
I agree. I
don’t agree. / I disagree.
That’s right. That’s
wrong.
That’s completely right. That’s completely
wrong.
